AMES was hot for rumors of taking over other stores, some southern, some jewelry. Overbought resulted, and the stock tanked. Was that Wall street's way of telling the AMES management; you can not use leveraged stock to buy bad locations or bad chain stores?

Hills was bought, not by leveraged buyout; AMES is still stuck with the high debt.

Ames is now on a course of picking good locations of closed stores. Good luck on 460 stores and more to come this year for a $3.15 earnings projection.
