I remember something in Eli's last CC where he said they were honoring all contract pricing despite the shortage.

Michael, I clearly remember the Q 33 99 CC. Eli said that they were raising prices then, but all existing contracts were going to be honored. Consequently, we wouldn't see any effect on margins until Q1 00. I remember this like it were yesterday. I expect a significant improvement in margins this Q.

Michael, re "Also, isn't the SEG buyout for stock and some cash from Silver Lake? I don't think Veritas is coming up with cash so why sell the SNDK stock?"

I stand corrected. I tried to change my post but it timed out.

Michael, from the press releases I've seen, it appears that the group taking Seagate private for some $2 billion is also buying the company's SNDK shares. If so, they will probably sell off at least some of the shares in order to raise cash for the buyout. The drop in price of SNDK suggests that investors expect some of these 4 million or so shares to hit the market soon.
