Uniroyal Technology of Sarasota, Florida, may double its
production capacity even though the company won't begin shipping its product until June, said George Zulanas, Uniroyal's chief financial officer.

About 6 months ago they had projected shipments starting at the end of 99/begin of 2000. I guess they are finding out that this is perhaps harder than squeezing oranges!

I also found it funny that the report stated that CREE's diodes were cheaper than Uniroyals since they "aren't shipping any yet". If Uniroyal can't make them yet, they don't know what the cost will be so any stated price is probably based on wishful thinking.

Also in regards to potential Chasm Crossing: CREE has apparently filled two senior positions for RF products. This coupled with various statements about plans to release several new RF products this year bodes well. Although I should warn that I've not yet seen any announcements of "Design Wins" in this area.
