I wish I could do a better job of giving Asian suggestions. My knowledge is very weak on Korea and Indonesia. I would stick with Softbank for the big obvious play -- but I wonder if they are getting scatter-brained with so many investments and two new venture capital pools announced in the last month with a billion-and-a-half to invest. Some US companies will do well -- GE, maybe Compaq, DELL -- companies providing services in unexpected places. But the pure plays, I am not sure. I need to do more homework before I can say anything with even a little confidence. Sorry, I am not much use to you today. Keep your eye on Sony -- but I don't like their vertical integration.

BTW: WTO in China is not necessarily going to happen this year. Europe will get a leg-up on us (even if only to relieve themselves) if we don't get Congress thinking straight ASAP. We need access to China. And when we have that access, China will never again be the same -- in some ways for the better -- but I will miss some aspects of the "charm" that will die from the backstreets.
