Pirated software is simply a software 'derivative' of the real thing. The question is not whether eBay or Yahoo! will adopt a software copyright 'gold standard' but what penalties they must pay for not doing so sooner. Do we argue about whether there should be more than one trademark/copyright office? Why should a gold standard be any different? The system works. Foreign and domestic companies can force adherence to a standard value. How many years will they be in business if they don't? I just didn't think it would take this long.
