Six years ago I worked for Dell as a contractor helping them convert the 15 General Ledger systems they had scattered around the world to one centralized General Ledger system. (I still have the T-shirt.) Converting the U.S. general ledger was a three week round-the-clock endeavor and when we finished Tom Meredith had a party for us at his house. A beautiful house that must have been 10,000 square feet, high on a hill overlooking the Colorado river. (At least I think it was the Colorado. That is the major river in Austin isn't it?) There were ten or twelve of us on the project and he spent some time with each of us telling us how much he appreciated our efforts. A truly CLASS act...

View management changes as sound and note management shift underway for past 6 months... Meredith's skillset should serve Dell's Internet incubator efforts well... While other co.'s have similar efforts, we believe Dell's competitive advantages in strategy, logistic management will prove to be a powerful differentiator... Schneider has been groomed for CFO spot for a while... don't see shift in financial strategy. Re: (My seventh grade english teacher would have made me diagram the first sentence had I turned it in on a paper) My seventh grade English teacher used a box to illustate prepositions. She jumped in the box and out of the box. Maybe she should work for Dell. :)Leigh
