NSI Communications Inc. ("NSI") announced today that it has received orders totaling over $2 million. Included in these orders is a contract exceeding $1.6 million to supply a major wireless telecommunications carrier in Africa with a 15 station VSATPlus II network. This network will provide voice and data connectivity to the carrier's subscribers using R2 and C7 signaling. The network consists of a teleport station in Europe and 14 remote stations dispersed in Africa. The teleport will provide connectivity to public telephone and data networks. The balance of the orders consist of miscellaneous orders from NSI's existing customers. John Barkwith, NSI's Director of Business Development commented, "The growing demand for communications in developing countries has never been more apparent than now. This new contract demonstrates that NSI's VSATPlus II system continues to prove itself as a cost-effective communications system for a variety of telecom applications." NSI is a leading international provider of full-meshed VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminals) networks allowing for the satellite-based transmission of telephone, data and video. VSAT networks provide organizations, which have geographically dispersed locations, with efficient and secure communication facilities in areas of the world where conventional telecommunication infrastructures are lacking. NSI?s VSATPlus II TDMA-DAMA technology is particularly well suited for complex private networks, telephone trunking applications and multi-line rural telephony. NSI also provides turn-key satellite communication systems solutions, ranging from single earth stations to complete national and international telecommunication networks. NSI supports its worldwide customer base from its offices in Canada, United States, Mexico, China and Indonesia. NSI currently has 44,232,328 common shares outstanding, which are quoted for trading on the Canadian Dealing Network under the symbol "NSII".
