Zoltan!, RE: Cisco has never been inexpensive and P/E analysis such as yours has always proved abortive with Cisco and the other high tech wunderkind.

On the contrary, CSCO has certainly been inexpensive in the past, particularly when compared to today's valuation. Back in the dark ages when I owned the stock, it could be purchased at <20x earnings.

Well, this 500 billion dollar company's PE is about 10 times what it ought to be. Maybe it's only 8 times or 5 if you're more aggressive. I praised the company but there is no justification for this price. No amount of attacking is going to change that. When the stock drops like a rock, you all will vanish into thin air. How often have we seen that happen on these discussion boards? Like I said, Cisco is a fantastic company. Claiming the PE is historically an expensive one says nothing about the current level. Should the PE rise from 200 to 2000, are you going to make the same worthless remark: "Ah, duh PE is always expensive. Duh company always gots competition. Ah duh..."
