FWIW premium on NASD stocks as spiked up, however the VIX, widely watched barrometer of stock market implied volatility [cost of insurance on equities] is relatively subdued although rising @ 26.75%.

I know - but if you're looking for value there's a lot around. I know little about HM - and I've never seen it mentioned as a take over prospect - but you have to wonder -so at these levels I don't know what there is to lose - unless the Balance Sheet is weak? Someone here said that NEM has a weak balance sheet - again I don't follow it - but you'd think the time would be ripe for consolidation between some of the majors. And isn't Barrick everyone's favourite predator?
