chzz, ctxs is in its quiet period. If it were going to miss earnings, it surely would've preannounced. the stock has fallen more than Dell when it missed a year ago Feb. Apparently some radio broker in Ft. Lauderdale broadcast that rumor last week, according to posters on the RB thread.
Stock is priced as though it had announced an earnings disappointment, but it has not.
On the RB thread, someone talked to Investor Relations who said in effect, just look at what's happening to all the tech stocks today. they couldnt comment on the rumor.
I wish you well but not to buy CTXS in the 40s.

There was no rhyme or reason for the stock to run from around $25 to well over $100 other than it caught the fancy of some Wall Street touts, and when these same touts bale because of a whiff of negative news (in this case, a rumor of a back-end loaded quarter) the stock is likely to trade down below its fundamental value

I always like it when Chuzzlewit, valuation guy extraordinaire, shows up. I agree with his statement in general and I agree with it with specific regard to Citrix. I haven't run any numbers, but my guess is that at best Citrix is now at fair value and probably not particularly undervalued.
