A Report on Project Hunt.--Anyone investigating a company, I'd urge you to put it into Project Hunt format and present it to the thread. Your thought process (and pocketbook) will be better for it.

Your knowledge of a company and industry does not have to be perfect to do a project hunt report. The format gives a terrific framework for discussion of a candidate. And that should be the point of the report.

On Tuesday, I received in the mail an MSDW writeup on a company (INFS). Over the next day I did a pretty brief study of the company, including the usual Yahoo pages, downloading the 10K and visiting their website. I took an initial (1/3) position in the company, and simultaneously--and almost as an afterthought--posted my Project Hunt report. It took less than an hour to actually write up. In quick order there were a number of really valuable observations and informative posts that have deepened my understanding of the issues surrounding the company.

I haven't spent very much time in learning about this company, or its industry. The contributions of the thread have been very valuable. They've provided a real shortcut in getting up to speed. I urge anyone investigating a company to view it in Gorilla/King terms, and present your analysis, however brief, to the thread. You will get lots of good feedback.

Best,
John

DS--You are right on the Mocromirror Device. It is TI's, and INFS lists this in their 10K as a risk to future operations. They are dependent on TI's making enough of these to continue their growth for a lot of their product.
