OTOT Pravin - RE: "TDFX has interesting technology, but their next gen cards require multiple chips with huge power requirements that may limit the acceptance."

I don't know if this was posted to this thread, but TDFX bought Gigapixel, the other company rumored to have gotten the X-Box video card deal. I wonder if TDFX's decision was a reaction to NVDA's win or if it was planned out for a long time.

Pravin<< I have a friend in the PC gaming business. The NV15 rocks. TDFX has interesting technology, but their next gen cards require multiple chips with huge power requirements that may limit the acceptance. nVidia is also about to enter the laptop market and give ATI a run for its money. nVidia is high, but I'm betting it will go higher. I think the techs will continue their rebound tomorrow, and I plan on exiting nVidia at around $80. Thanks for your thoughts. >>
Best of luck to you on nvidia, it's definitely a good company with solid management. After I see nv15 come in on time, I may buy back in. However, I think to some extent having the best video board is already priced into the stock, they've owned the high end pc market for awhile now. Lap top penetration would be huge for them. If they get that, the stock would definitely command a price over 100.

I think ati is still better positioned, but it doesn't have the sex appeal, despite having much stronger fudnamentals.
