Did I ever claim to be right all the time? Most impressive gains by AMD today. I am no expert in AMD and it certainly is not a Gorilla or a King or a candidate for either, so you know how much I care. ;}

You're right about 12/31 being too early, but that's when I recalculate my 2001 IRA "substantially equal periodic payments" and I want a big raise next year.

cirrus,

You still long NTAP? It's coming into my buy range. If the general markets were anywhere close to a bottom, I'd be a buyer here. But since we're no where near a bottom, i'd guess NTAP has quite a bit pain left. I'm a buyer in the high single digits, depending on how long it takes to get there and what the general market and economic conditions look like at that time. That's still a rich price IMHO at about 3x sales at $10.

Who knows, by the time it gets to $10 I might not want it. I've been mostly trying to stay out of the way lately and playing safe bets to the short side. As a hedge, I opened up a long position on INKT (stupid me thought $13 was the floor, or at least close to it), but MR. Market proceded to b*tch slap me and cut her in half. I'm writing calls against it and rolling the procedes into new shares, so I'm averaged in at about $8.50 now, but still well under water. I'm going to be careful with the next falling knife I try to catch.

NTAP is ripe for a buy-write strategy, nice premiums.....
