panic selling indeed!!!

but for what it's worth, I think it's over... My reasoning
is as follows: the biggest threats of inflation came from
1) high oil prices and 2) high stock market valuations.
Otherwise there is no reason for Greenspan to raise
interest rates. In both cases, we have had a serious drop.
So normally, the market should've reacted positively in
the last few days... but it hasn't... why? because alot of
the big houses on Wall Street miscalculated how high some
of the high tech stocks would go. They don't have much
time to act to get back in at what they consider reasonable
prices because 1) market will warm up to the fading
threat of inflation and 2) earning season is around the
corner and in my opinion it will be a dandy for anything
closely related to internet/silicon. So out come the gurus
(Cohen, Mobius, and a few others) all clamoring that you
better jump into retail stocks before the bottom falls out
of the nasdaq. They succeed! We have our bi-annual sell-off
on the nasdaq (now down about 13% from its high), bio-techs
been absolutely trashed, etc. etc. On the instant they
look like geniuses but for the long term they are useless
to the small investor who's only solution is to wheather
out the storm... and I think this one is nearing an end!

but I'm starting to rant.

as for TOM, congrats if you sold higher and can now buy
back lower. I'm just content in waiting for the day this
stock takes off for real...
