Actually, I got back the other day, so I can't claim any credit for today's rally. I was in Ecuador for a friend's wedding. It is amazing, even in fairly small cities you'll find multiple Internet cafes. Using the Internet for international phone calls is quite popular as the rates charged by the national phone company are astronomical. There is going to be a tremendous explosion in the growth of the Latin American Internet market over the next 5 years, which should trigger greater growth of PC sales than in the U.S. The same is true for Eastern Europe, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, China, parts of Africa and the Pacific. The foreign market is where AMD can truly shine -- the Athlon and soon Spitfire are even more compelling alternatives than Intel chips in markets where the consumer is substantially more price sensitive than in the U.S. I predict AMD will capture more than 50% of all non-U.S./Western Europe PC sales by the end of 2001.

Niceguy Re..<<<<<Comment: Now that you mention it, that trip south does seem to work wonders...SteveC, you can't come back 'til we see $70! >>>>

Seems to????? It has worked several times in a row. Far more reliable than Elmer's banner theory. I just might know a couple guys from Chicago. We will have to give Steve an offer he can't refuse; so he dosn't come back until 70. <ggg>
