Taiwan: UMC's Nippon Foundry Signs $140 Million Loan
TAIPEI -- Nippon Foundry Inc., a member of the UMC Foundry Group, has signed a 15 billion yen ($140 million) syndicated loan agreement with a group led by Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank of Japan, the UMC Group said Friday.

The loan has a term of three years and an interest rate of 1.5 percentage points above the Tokyo three-month interbank rate, UMC said.

The syndicate group includes Standard Chartered Bank, Taiwan's First Commercial Bank and Chang Hwa Bank (CHW), as well as seven Japanese financial institutions.

The UMC Foundry Group's flagship company is United Microelectronics Corp
