Yaacov, well I had already done this post, but I just read the Duke of URL post: Message 13320182 so it is all probably a moot point.

It was 167,500 shares, which would mean about 17Million bucks or so for Mr. Buffett. Of course this is a drop in the bucket for him. The significance is that the worlds most recognized Value investor believes that tech stocks, at least MSFT can be bought.

We know Mr. Buffett invests for the long term. Thus it is reasonable to assume he thinks some technology companies will be more valuable in the future. Perhaps we can even go far as to say he may think that MSFT is currently trading at a discount to its intrinsic value.

In all, Mr Buffett's action with respect to MSFT is a fundamental change that exceeds the number of shares purchased at this point in time.
