Sorry - another late disclosure - I did buy VRTS at the close yesterday as a play on its addition to the S&P tonight. I still believe the logical play is short VRTS long SEG

>> At yesterday's close SEG was trading some $5 below theoretical value by back of the envelope calculation, and the possibility that the deal might be sweetened if major shareholders yell loud enough is a possible kicker.

The only problem with buying SEG now is that over 90% of the buyout price is in VRTS stock. I personally have no way to know if VRTS is worth $50/sh or 100 or 150 or 200.

As many posters here have said, the deal is not unfair in terms of the VRTS shares. It is the give-away of the disk business. So if Mr. Luczo can be shamed into improving his offer, maybe that will bring another $10/sh. However, most of the risk will still be in VRTS stock. And with NASDAQ crashing everyday, that outweighs any sweetening.
