Thanks for clarifying.

I'd like to ask something else. What do you think the effect of removing SEG as a public company will have on the remaining WDC, MXTR and HDD ? So far it hasn't been good. But maybe that was due to the simultaneous tech crash of the past few days.

Apparently Mr. Luczo and his team see a lot of value that the market is refusing to recognize. Amazingly the press reports about the offer make it seem like a premium is being offered to SEG shareholders. While we are crying highway robbery.

If I short VRTS today, and then cover when the shares of SEG I purchased last June are exchanged for VRTS, would this mean that I would have to claim a short term capital gain on my income tax return? I'm thinking that it probably would.
