RMBS pricing and Dell

Just ordered a Dell 620 Workstation on Wed. with 128mb of RMBS memory. Price for an additional 128mb on Wed. was $389.

Put in a change order yesterday for an additional 128mb. Dell had increased the price by $300! This has got to be flowing thru to RMBS bottom line.

Everyone is convinced that RDRAM is here to stay except the short players over at Island ECN who are making
up 40% of the trades this morning.

I notice a lot of seller on the ISland ECN too. Close to the end of the trading period around 3:58pm, any bid with size higher than a few hundred shares are filled instantly. The bid does not last more than a second after being placed !

How do you know these are short seller ? To me they could be some institutional investor trying to get out after waited long enough (more than 2 years) and after more than 3 folds increase in price.
