Some foods make me sleepy. If I have insomnia, I get up and eat saltine crackers and drink milk. I don't care for the taste of warm milk, so I drink it cold, but it works, anyway. This will put me to sleep in half an hour.

My sleep cycle is squirrelly because I don't have to adhere to a set schedule, so I don't. When I have to get up earlier than I like, it throws me off kilter for days.
