Kayaker, I hold both QCOM and JDSU. I think both will do well but I prefer JDSU to any other high flier out there. I still like the other larger cap fibre optics plays like SDLI and GLW.

The downgrade of B2B stocks by prudential is interesting. Their reason given is that there is competition from Microsoft and Oracle.
I would love to see a company like Intel try to get into the fibre optics business--no chance. They would still have to rely on JDSU. Cisco will surely have to buy from JDSU. The fear that the high flying B2B's stocks have of MSFT and Oracle does not exist in the optical components business due to the enormous barriers to entry.

The fact that Cisco is getting into this sector is a sure sign of how much growth there is. Cisco does not fear NT's networking business but is in fear of its fibre optics capabilities. Cisco knows very well they are fighting an uphill battle against NT. I think NT will be the big winner in this sector. The only hope Cisco really has is GLW, JDSU, SDLI to get better and better products. JDSU being at the bottom of the food chain will win in any case.

It did get to 105. But you are right about that, I use my bearishness too. That's why I bought SDLI, since it was up yesterday, and I knew the market was getting very bearish, it felt safe as trade maybe longer. Between SDLI and JDSU, I still feel JDSU has more to go down, SDLI is acting much more stronger, so I see more risk in JDSU short term. Long term this is all noise anyhow. Look at what happens to stocks that have hung in there, take BRCM for an example, they explode right back, it was at it's high last time I looked, the same could happen to SDLI more so then JDSU. I still feel the market will come back down, no way can it drop like this and not have further selling. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone well tell me.
