When all the investigating is done, it will be interesting to see if Veritas tried to buy all of SEG and was rebuffed by management since it would have spoiled their party. Hopefully, strong evidence of self-dealing will emerge if others have tried to make offers or proposals.

Well, I just checked FreeEdgar, looked at 13G filings since last November. The only company to file for a >5% ownership was Sanford Bernstein. They owned as of 2/8 a little more 21 million shares, or about 10%. Putnam also filed on 2/18, but to say that they were now under 5% with about 2.35 million shares, or 1.1%. Obviously, they sold a lot in Jan/Feb to get to 1.1% from over 5%.

I wonder if Al Shugart is looking at doing anything. Or if he is happy being out of the drive business, "Free at last, free at last, free at last".
