There are times when they can let down, but the need to be tough is also associated with the fear that weakness will be exploited or ridiculed...

The assumption that failure to trumpet one's toughness from any available platform somehow equates to weakness is responsible for a great deal of male idiocy.

Those who feel the need to flaunt their toughness are generally wimps in feeble disguise.

That depends on the tribe, doesn't it. I think you generalize about proper male behavior a bit too much. It is interesting that the NFL punishes those who dance and taunt their enemies after scoring because its not proper Anglo-Saxon magnanimity but is more in keeping with Hebrew, Xhosa, Zulu, or Lakota behavior.
