Vroom, vroom, and zoom.

Let us not snear at earnings when it is in actual cash.

In the final analysis, we are involved in a revolution/war and it is very rare for revolutions to free of casualties.
In this revolution, the losers will be those who run out of cash at a critical juncture. Finding a pile of socks in the last ammo box would be dissapointing, demoralizing and dangerous.

The cash tank, when full, while the liquidity bomb goes off (if it does), will allow 9984 and its invested companies to pick up all the good ideas.

Deng Xiao-ping said "It does not matter whether a cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice". Earning, when in actual cash, is EARNINGS, one time or otherwise, especially for an outfit like 9984 (investment/e-cubator), and means more cash to match investors (News Corp, IFC, etc) fund contributions, to collect management fees and overrides from. Cash now means more cash later, especially used to play the IPO game on Nasdaq Japan. All the 9984 co-investing tycoons from around the world must be cleaning their silver readying for the feasting that is to come, and we will have a seat. Our seat is not at the dining table, but with Son, at the kitchen counter.

As ICGE crashes way below my previous sell point, I am excited and the music is now on full blast, with base turned way right. If I did not know better I would have thought Christmas is around the corner.

Dear N,
IMHO earnings for Softbank,CMGI,SFE,ICGE and even Berkshire-Hathaway are meaningless. The whole name of the game is to increase the net worth but the REALIZATION of gains is the only thing that affects the earnings statements. We need a new acounting system.
