Can't say I've seen any cult followers here myself. As you know, I own CSCO and NT, believing they are the two major recipients of the Internet infrastructure buildout.

Rod has a problem. He posits that the proper way to value CSCO is P/E and forecasts its demise. But then he can't intelligently defend what most rational people believe is a preposterous notion. He ignores all other valuation metrics and all evidence suggesting he is wrong, then claims he's being personally attacked by a bunch of emotional, unintelligent, and lucky CSCO zealots.

Really now. Is he just putting us on?

Well, they aren't really interested in defending current valuations when they can simply attack critics with lame comments and dumb questions. Maybe if we repeat it often enough it will sink in: the company is great, the product is stellar, the market capitalization of 500 billion can't be justified under any circumstances no matter how glowing the outlook. It's predicting perfection times 100 going forward and that's not going to happen.

Unwillingness to sail into uncharted seas prevents discovery of anything new. Someone has to chart those seas. And here we are with immense choices to make for which there is no real information. I have several dozen heart disease and cancer disease treatments from which to choose. I have a dozen or more network choices to make, and many chip manufacturers. Not all will succeed, but if I guess right, I will become very rich. If I scatter my investments over all of the identified possible winners I may become pretty rich. The point is, that no one can predict what will happen so I have to bet on my own opinions.
I have made an enormous number of mistakes in picking companies and timing in and out. Every time I sold Cisco I made a mistake regardless of what I did with the money. I know that Cisco is badly overpriced. I feel certain that in the future Cisco will take a very bad hit. I don't really worry about that at all. I am playing with money I gained from owning Cisco. Someday I will take a serious hit. I am much older than Cisco is. With luck I'll croak before Cisco does. Cisco is like the widow's cruse. I keep taking money out, and someone keeps filling up the cruse. Seems like a good deal to me.

>>Rod, these CSCO followers truely remind me of cult followers! (like the Jonestown lemmings).

Last time I checked, Reuters said that your cult favorite NT didn't even have a PE. That makes you the Super Lemming.

>>I mostly post here purely for entertainment

And that's what you were known for before the act became manic.

>>Oh well, usually history has shown that the height of illusion is demonstrated JUST before the fall.

Fasten your seat belt then, NT's in for a bumpy ride. Oh, and that propeller helmet of yours too.
