Microsoft: Wells Fargo Bank To Use Windows 2000 Server

Redmond, Wash. (Dow Jones)--Wells Fargo & Co.'s (WFC, news, msgs) Wells Fargo Bank agreed to use Microsoft Corp.'s (MSFT, news, msgs) Windows 2000 Server operating system as its enterprise-wide operating system.

In a press release Wednesday, Microsoft said Wells Fargo initially plans to migrate 120 servers to Windows 2000 at the company's Wholesale Banking Group.

Microsoft said Wells Fargo will standardize on Windows 2000 Server and Active Directory service for its directory and file and print infrastructure, as well as its platform for applications and Web services.
