U.S. Post Office Reduces Cost of Stamps to 1 Cent
*************************
In an effort to defeat the threat of email communication, the U.S.
Postal Service has decided to slash the price of first class postage
to 1 cent. All mail under five pounds will be delivered for that same
1 cent stamp. Postal spokesman, Phil Morgan said "Sure it seems like
we're giving away the store, but we're going to make it up on
volume!" All classes of mail will be reduced to the 1-cent rate
including registered mail, express mail, and priority mail. Mr.
Morgan added, "We've suffered enough at the hands of these "so-called
high-tech wizards" and we're tired of taking a beating. The shoe will
be on the other foot now!" The only exempt material will be computer
software which must be sent at the old rate.
