Jozef, Here is a good research lecture on cache etc. eg.bucknell.edu Covers all aspects. Fairly technical. It is an optimisation process to the nature of the tasks you do. Those who have a special scenario...playing Quake-III forexample, can take the time to write a special set of algorithms and that store and call on the missed victims and keep them close at hand in the victim cache, since there will be a pattern in that area that, once recoginised, will allow you to run the game at it's fastest possible speed. In addition, Quake programmers can collaborate with the cache algorithm people to optimise stuff. Bill
