I don't know if this helps anybody, but i have to always remind myself that our instant access to data comes with a price, at least regarding stocks. Not so long ago you bought a stock, might check the price once a week or month in a newspapaer, wouldn't see or grind on every little up or downtick. Now of course i wouldn't give up all our new access for anything, but we haven't even had a new quarterly announcement yet. Usual recovery after a bad surprise is at least two quarters so engender everyones confidence back, so we have a ways to go. I plunked down about a 100K when she was ~52, and expect I'll be happy in 3-5 years which is my time horizon.
