RE: Godzilla navigation...Interesting that you have modified the company list upon which Moore applied the Icarus system. You have added DoubleClick and CMGI, while eliminating Amazon. Intuitively, I would agree with you, but I wonder if you would mind explaining the reasons for your substitutions. StockHawk No need to crowd the thread with the Godzilla Game. I wrote all about it over on the Gorilla Gaming in the eWorld thread last fall in terms of the business models and why I hold the stocks that I do in the various Godzilla spaces. Amazon is not a model that interests me. I guess I should have been clearer as I have not applied the Icarus Scoring to CMGI, but I have to DoubleClick. CMGI is an incubator and therefore I don't see the point in applying the same type of criteria to the incubator, but one can to the companies that it incubates. The Icarus Scoring system was designed to be applied to more than just the big 4 (Amazon, eBay, Yahoo! and AOL). Those happen to be the four that the authors chose to illustrate in the new chapter simply because they were the largest and most 'brand aware' at the time. By the way, I wanted to address an issue that Mike brought up about the "Internutz". In the revised manual's new chapter on Godzilla Gaming, it was mentioned this was not a category where one would buy a 'basket' of stocks. However, on the GG listserv since the revised manual came out at the end of last summer, Geoff has somewhat evolved his view on that matter and I posted that information here at the time. There has been some excellent discussion on Godzilla Gaming on the GG listserv. BB
