Re: "Dear Elmer: I have written compilers and work in highly optimized assembly language code for embedded systems and scientific calculations" etc etc....

pgerassi, I'm sure you have and I'm also sure the other issues you raise have merit. That's not the point. AMD makes claims that are factual errors. AMD displays CuMine benchmarks that are inexplicably low and says they are from the latest compiler available. This is a factual error. They are not from the latest compiler available. AMD is making claims that are wrong. You can keep telling me how compilers are designed, how Athlon doesn't benefit from the new compilers or how the compilers are intended to optimize code only for SPEC until you turn blue in the face but that is not the point in question. Divert the issue as you may, the point remains, AMD is showing inexplicable low scores for CuMine and falsely claiming to use the latest compiler available. It is not the latest comipler available and compiler design or benchmark design or anything else is not going to make AMD's statements true. They are patently false and they portray the competition in a false light based on false claims by AMD. Hide behind any smokescreen you like but the claims are still false and anyone can verify it for themselves.

The whole point behind this silly discussion is that I believe that AMD simply has an out of date webpage, just like Dell has an out of date webpage when showing 30 day availability for CuMines. What is really interesting is all the tortured logic you guys come up with to try and dismiss the fact that AMD is (perhaps inocently) making false statements. Why don't you just admit the webpage is out of date and be done with it?
