TIMING: Everybody knows it is hard to time the market, and your timing on this $170 acquisition looks bad NOW. However, give yourself the benefit of 6 months time and you will look like a genius! That's the best handout I can offer at the moment..... Best wishes, Jim

Thinking out Loud. I am hanging on to my shares in MRV by my fingernails. Three weeks ago we were close to 200 a share. Friday or Thursday of this week we tested the low eighties. What has changed? ...besides the price of the stock!.......Interest Rates and AJC lightened up in tech's 5%. She is probably the best, respected person in this business. Did this cause the Nasdaq to correct for five straight days? I don't think so. I do think all these other talking heads took advantage of the situation to shout fire in our theater so they could justify being in "old economy stocks" and have been losing there ... So the media gives them a forum to scare hell out of most all of us and the fund managers that bought MRV at 50 or so took their profits. Not exclusive to MRV but sure seemed like at a faster decline than most others from a percentage stand point.. What is the fastest growing sector in the world for this time and space on the planet? Maybe Viagra pills. (vlg) I think it is STILL demand for Broad band and or how to better utilized what is out there. Has the internet stopped working...I don't thing so. Has the demand for all types of communication devices stopped or even slowed. I don't think so. Please don't post the usual cautions from a 10k. If you have read one they are always in them. I have seen them for 10 years. When will it stop or slow down...next week....I don't think so....next year....I don't think so. We have seen a definite change in management of MRV during this. They have supported the stock with some PR. It definitely helped on Thursday keeping the stock at or above 100. They alerted most shareholders of an article that was written and published explaining exactly what Thursday's PR meant. (I still don't understand all of it...S.O.S, Sector) but Friday...nothing would have helped (maybe). I am definitely encouraged by management's concern about the stock's price. It seems obvious that now that they have acquired a few companies recently they need the stock's price to appreciate or these companies (Korea and Taiwan) will cost them a lot more than they thought they were paying for them. Me thinks we just need to hang on until this month's CC: There is only eight months left in this year (already) so simple odds tells me something significant should be happening soon. Pardon my venting but usually when I start hollering uncle the stock moves up....usually is the key word here. Who cares what I think...just me. Good Luck to all. This has been tough on everybody.
