I agree that the upside for SDLI is potentially greater, on a percentage basis, than JDSU. A double is not outta the question -- at all. Maybe more. But, similarly, I feel the downside is also greater. Indeed, if the market tanks, SDLI will take a bigger hit. Perhaps a much greater hit. That said, I love the sector -- particularly these two companies, and I feel quite strongly that the risk of a true market crash are VERY limited. Both will consolidate, perhaps drastically, and both will be at much higher levels as well imo. All in all, I will remain long both companies. I can't say that about many other companies at this time (other than QCOM, some chip companies and networkers, and perhaps a few select biotechs)...so at least for me that's saying something.
