I don't find much credibility in your statement about "security industry lobbyists" influencing the SEC. This can't happen, because the SEC gains nothing from kow-towing to the wishes of lobbyists.

Dear Don Q,

The reason you don't find much credibility in the referenced statement is because I never made it! My response was only to Rande's last sentence (the one that was italicized at the top of my post), and I did not write "security industry lobbyists influencing the SEC" The term SEC never appears in my post!

I assumed that my use of the phrase "compaign donations" would be enough to clue readers into the fact that I was simply expressing frustration over any individual having to compete with lobbyists for their lawmaker's (politicians) attention. Simple like that.

Looks like there is not as many windmills around as there used to be, huh?
