Thanks for the analysis of the court proceedings. I read the patent in question, and it seems to be a very broad patent. If the patent is upheld, then Sandisk holds 5 Aces in this New Paradigm of flash storage. Lexar is also in deep trouble if found to have violated the patent. Really, if Sandisk indeed has full rights to the patent, then other companies must also watch out as they might be or already have infringed as well.

I only wish that Civil Disputes like this were resolved much more quickly, as it seems that this round of lawsuits could go on for years. Lexar may not even be in a financial position to even offer a settlement. They may decide to fight to the bitter end (Sandisk owning the front door keys to Lexar HQ). This could take a LONG time.

Oh well, as Tom Petty sez, "The Waaaiiiiting is the hardest part."
