This Elian Gonzales thing is starting to really bug me. The Cuban-Amercican community is saying they're going to lock arms to protect Elian's 'rights' until the appeals process is ended, suggesting that they're prepared to do battle with the INS, ATF, FBI, National Guard, the Chicago Police Dept and the Commissioner of Baseball. --- If I were President, I'd do the unexpected here. I'd turn around and just GIVE the State of Florida to Cuba. --- We don't *need 50 states. If we did, Puerto Rico is right there waving it's hand wildly. I'd be on the phone to Gloria Estaphan telling her she has 48 hours to cough up the little delinquent, or be over run by forces of whatever coalition government hastily worked out between Michael Eisner, Fidel Castro and the Florida Marlins. --- It's not like Gainsville couldn't use some variation to it's gene pool. It'd sober Jimmy Buffet up pretty quick. You think Salsa is big now? Wait until Disney puts together the island theme-park. Watch how long Fidel Castro's authority lasts in the face of MTV's Spring Break(TM)! --- I'm going to be thinking about this in depth over the weekend. -JCJ

Dear Lynn: There is a fellow named Murphy who supposedly is a technology adviser and who is predicting incredible changes in wireless and internet access and communication with hand held or small appliances in the next few years. I hope that SUNW will profit from this. JDN
