Re.:"...This smells extremely bad..." Agree, 100%. This stock enjoys the most negative sentiment (to the point of vengeance) I have known. I have a hunch that last week's manipulation may not be the last of such attacks, since Castle Creek still has some ammunition left. I'm glad that VLNC settled with the plaintiff. It'll help wipe out some of the negative sentiments. jmo. Ram

Paul, With the small amount of VLNC shares out there can't this hedge with BEAR Stearns continue once we return to 32-35 range? Mike

Paul, thanks for the cogent post. Friday PM, i saw yet another example of what i'm sure is blatant market manipulation by a hedge fund. One of my holdings LBRT and a few others, AFCI, WIND, PWAVE, RSAS, all dropped 10% in the last 1/2 hour friday. LBRT is a s/w provider for interactive TV and Wind also provides RTOS software. I don't even know what those other companies do. there was no news out on LBRT or WIND - i know about those other companies dropping from a post on lbrt thread. all dropped precipitously on fairly low volume. It's clear to me that some hedge fund had a large bet against these companies, e.g. on the 1st quarter results of a fund holding these companies. The timing of this incredible coordinated drop is uncanny. Once you know the kind of shit these guys are getting away with these things stick out like a sore thumb. Really amazing. I'm sure somebody really cleaned up by screwing these stock late friday in a very coordinated attack.
