Dear Charles: They would probably demand our gov't declare war against Cuba if the child was not returned immediately, whether the boy's father was rich or poor:

"How would all these protestors respond if the
tables were turned and a U.S. citizen child somehow turned up in
Cuba with his extended family while his father remained in the U.S..."

And if I hear one more time one tiny bit of criticism for Elian's father _not_ catching the first plane available to the States I think I'll scream! Geez, it's not like the father is in Ohio.
