About Gary Smith: Most of his readers knew it was a joke, because, for having read just a couple of his article, I can tell you he's a great proponent of prudent money management and he's the first one to warn people for using too much margin on speculative stocks. It wasn't plausible at all. It's his kind of humor, I guess, it's not a publicity stunt at all.

Too many people are abusing margin and not using proper diversification among stocks and industries. A number of people are holding just a few stocks with large amounts of their trading capital, just waiting to hit the lottery.

There is an old saying on this thread that I forget to apply sometimes. It's something like:
