Hi LLCool
You said:
If they were buying for clients, then they
obviously don't have their clients listening to them, and if they are buying (or covering,
perhaps) for themselves, then that is worse.

Are you suggesting that when a brokerage firm goes from a buy to an accumulate and we get a client that wants to accumulate it, we should suggest they do this elsewhere?
Also, not to belabor this silly nitpicking conversation but this company was higher 2 weeks ago, just like just about every other tech stock.
fundamental analysts don't try to do much market timing anymore. It is really just measuring the degree of their opinion.
For a few years at least, target prices on recommendations have been practically worthless. If the companies are successful, they just blow through the target and then the analyst will eventually raise the target. Many firms don't even use targets anymore. Thiose that do are just throwing a number out there for people to hang there hat on.

people may not like it but it's no secret and thats the way it is
