BlueTooth -- I think it is about a 10 meter range, not 6 miles. Short-range radio waves. This is my understanding.

Are you sure? the specs I've seen for bluetooth enabled gizmos transmit more like 6 feet than 6 miles. Maybe there are different categories of devices.

QUALCOMM benefits most from Bluetooth because it will link the CDMA ASIC in the phone to the nearby device such as door, puter, EFTPOS terminal, other phone. It links CDMA and the user to the world close up. HDR does the link at a distance.

That's my theory anyway.
