Allan,
If you are serious, you are calling for the same sort of terror seen in the French Revolution.

Ciao

Allan: Re: "In the end, even if my MSFT stock were to be confiscated by the government, I will be grateful to Bill Gates for standing for principle above capitulation and reminding me that there are things more precious then money in this life, in this time and in this place."

This is a refreshing post from someone who has been quoted here as only being in it for the money <g>.

Amen Brudda!

Start sending email to AlBore asking why is HE destroying the company that made productivity HAPPEN?

Perhaps he doesn't understand after all?

So let's see. The judge, the state attorney generals and the potential small fry as well as large competitors who were damaged by Microsoft are all in a big conspiracy with the Justice department to have the devil incarnate or the antiChrist or something destroy the heavenly Microsoft, our Lord our God who was the only hope for ourselves and future generations to spread rightousness over the world. Gee, if I'm not going to be baited into discussing politics I'm sure as Hell not getting baited into this one in case you're serious

Re: "Because then my children, their children and their children's children will in all probability live in eras where this sort of political incompetence and insanity will not be tolerated."

Don't sugar-coat it, Allan. <G>

I agree with your assessment of the incompetence demonstrated by Ms. Reno and other members of the current administration.

Best wishes,

I2

Allan, I'm curious as to whether you think that Microsoft is innocent of the charges against it, or do you just think that the laws it is accused of violating should not be on the books?

Oh, come on! People who invest in the S&P 500 don't care. If a stock fades out, it fades out. No big deal! Others will take its place and the world will carry on. Nothing happened when IBM went under for years (except for long-time loyal shareholders selling at much lower levels, that is; But they did that only because they didn't want to spoil Uncle Sam, of course ;-) <g>).

My prediction is that MSFT will underperform the S&P 500 in the next 10-year period (2000-2009). If you want to learn it the hard way, you are welcome to it!

The King of France:<<In the end, even if my MSFT stock were to be confiscated by the government, I will be grateful to Bill Gates for standing for principle above capitulation and reminding me that there are things more precious then money in this life, in this time and in this place.>.

Allan, it would seem to me the DOJ has benefited only one segment of our population with this case....the billionaires that run companies that compete with MSFT. What a disgrace! Jeff
