LARRY S: I disagree that the stock will rebound after the ruling. The ruling will outline findings of law confirming that MSFT has practiced monopolistic and illegal acts to the detriment of many. The "many" include classes of OS users, companies (AOL/NSCP etc.) and others. These "many" will start a litany of lawsuits against MSFT. How will this effect the stock price? IMO the stock will approach the mid 50's before it stabilizes. IMO the company will be forced to settle after they see the devastation in the erosion of it's one time high market cap.

I don't think attempts to settle have much, if any, bearing on an appeal.

JMHO.
