RE: Sandisk Aus, my feeling is that they will not have lock on this technology, when all is said and done. Listing their patents means nothing, it depends on what the courts hold. If they don't, I think I can make a lot of money with Sandisk as a Prince or King. If they do lock it up, I can lease a Lear Jet for my dance trips!

Aus.... Thank you very much for your posts this weekend on Sandisk. I read the posts, went back to your board, and did some more reading. Can't honestly say I fully comprehend all of the implications. But I am aware that memory in digital cameras, and digital cameras themselves, are in the tornado. I read an article on the plane last week, Forbes I think, about Sanyo. There was mention of a digital cameral memory technology that Sanyo planned on introducing in 2nd half, 2000. Something about opto-magnetic, or such. They suggested about 75 mb memory or so. Is this a problem for Sandisk? I understand Sanyo is quite powerful in the digital camera world, making its own, and serving as an OEM for other name brands. I still don't own any Sandisk. This is in no way a slight on your excellent judgment or research. I just don't have enough bucks to own everything I see in the Candy Store window. But I am still following from afar, because of this incredible tornado. In addition to digital cameras, what other bowling pins (market segments) do you anticipate will be knocked down by SanDisk?
