Hi JDN,

Calling a wireless link with a 6 mile range BlueTooth is something to bend my head around. The original specification had 1mW power out, and nominal 10 meter range, with 100mW optional.

100mW into a 36dBi gain antenna might work at 6 miles, but the BlueTooth protocol and timing might be rendered useless by the latency.

IEEE 802.15 has a High Speed Working Group to create a new 20+ Mbps standard. ieee802.org

Whether the new standard is called 'BlueTooth' depends on the whims of Intel and Ericsson...
