ed much thanks,and by using that site i was able to determine i don't evidently have ATI,as the place where they show me to look i find 3Dfx-voodoo,manufacturer 3D interactive corp.Problem has hit twice since my last post,and the ctrl/alt/delete produced no response,and had to re-boot twice to escape----i do have a CD for Netscape Communicator 4.7,and am now thinking of installing that,and see if i can then pin the problem on IE5.ah the hassles of a new system:( max
