At 145 it certainly was. In my limited experience, management waits through the usual retrenchment or two before declaring a split. The timing on this is a little awkward this time because the stock only recently reached these levels, and hasn't fully recovered from the little retrenchment we had last week. Also, the shareholder meeting is coming up, ballots need to be printed and mailed and all this means that there may not be time to announce a split and accomplish it by meeting time.
If the split has to wait for next year, we may see a 3 or even 4 for one if this year turns out to be a good as it looks like it may be.
