this and % money stock growth. What qualifies an individual as a candidate to be a buyer of gold? it does not matter as far as i have read. Individuals in China who would be considered quite poor by North American standards have greater net worths than many North Americans whom you would think quite wealthy. Without a doubt we are witnessing a masive transformation away from government control toward greater market driven forces. This , i believe, is why we see potential and actual massive unloading of gold by institutional{public} hands into potential massive accumulation of individual{private} hands.
You should see the sillieness here in Canada as taxes come down. The politicians are flustered. Landrey the finance minister of Quebec recently made one of the most ridiculelous comments made by a politician i have ever seen in regards to lowering the provincial gasoline tax by a penny a litre. He said it would reduce government revenues by about $100,000,000 cdn and only permit the oil companies to make more money by possibly not lowering the price per litre by the equivalent amount. So..... lets never lower taxes again for this very reason while we watch the truckers be sqeezed out of business by the lower taxed South. Better yet, lets get all the truckers to fill up down south and put Canadians out of work. If this tax reduction were to occur as Landrey says it might, the government would still walk away with $50,000,000 cdn in extra taxes from oil company profits.
