But AMZN looks dead in the water, and that is not a pretty sight in this environment.

AOL and YHOO are right there with AMZN on a YTD time scale -- take your pick. Oh, but they are profitable, unlike AMZN.

Long AMZN, YHOO.

Glenn: Amazon trend? OT again :) -- AMZN has been strangely trendless -- perhaps this is a
good "shorting" opportunity. I know you have sworn not to go down that road again. And
you know I don't actually short anything. But AMZN looks dead in the water, and that is not a
pretty sight in this environment.

GST,

I agree completely with what you said. Amazon is not a pretty site although relative strength is better than say VERT or others but that is not giving it much credit.

I conclude that Bezos will say almost anything to boost the price when a boost is needed even if what he says is not accurate. This is my opinion of course. My long positions on some speculative plays at the very worst, may only lose the entire investment if I held it long enough. Not true on the short side. I would rather be all cash in an uncertain market rather than short. The risk/reward frightens me to death. My thinking may no longer be logical but if I have emotional fears, I could react poorly.

I will let others short it.
